Four Months Old...

Well, Piper has now reached the ripe old age of four months. It's hard to notice since we see her everyday, but she's come a long way in the last month! Here's what she's been up to...

She's figured out that her head still
fits through the porch railing.
Her body, however, has grown too big to fit.

She's developed a slight obsession with the leaves.
She gets really angry at our rakes, brooms and lawn
mowers for stealing them. It's the only time she ever
barks or growls. Those leaves are very important to her!

We've been working on her "skills" a lot lately.
She loves training and learning new tricks
(or maybe she likes getting treats and we
like seeing her do funny things).

After a long day of leaf chasing and circus tricks,
she likes to just kick back and relax. She actually
slept in this position for half an hour.

Rough life being a puppy, isn't it?

Happy 4-Month Birthday Piper!

Moe Season Ends in Tulsa

The weekend of October 6-7, our Ultimate team made the trek down to Tulsa, Oklahoma for our Regionals tournament. It was definitely not anyone's top choice of location (the majority of the region's teams are from the northern midwest), but the 11-hour trip wasn't actually too bad. Plus we added a new state to our list of places visited.

A rare photo - both of us playing in the same point and captured in the same shot!

The tournament was fun, but ended poorly for us. Our team was expected to win out and go on to Nationals in Florida, but instead we lost two close games that put us in third place, one spot out of the running for Sarasota. Understandably, our team was extremely disappointed. But now, after the fact, I think we realize that the reason we play is not necessarily just for the competition and the winning titles, it's all about our teammates and the awesome relationship we have as a team. This level of camaraderie that comes from training, practicing, traveling, winning and losing together is something we have yet to find anywhere else.

Moe 2007 at Regionals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Not sure what next year will bring for the Everharts (we're getting old!), but thanks to Moe 2007 for another amazing season.

3 Months Old Today

Today, Piper offically turned three months old. Unfortunately for her, we celebrated with a trip to the vet for deworming and a rabies vacccine - wooohooo. She's doing great though and becoming a nice, well-mannered but not-so-little puppy (she weighed in at 22 lbs today). The biting is under control and accidents in the house are thankfully very rare. Here's a few recent photos (she's quite the model - loves posing for the camera)...

Piper goes to the beach

The weather's been a little warmer in the last two days, so we took advantage and brought Piper to the beach. She was a little nervous about the water at first, but after enticing her with a ball and a frisbee, she dove right in (well, more like ran in - she doesn't like to actually "swim" yet). Here's some photos from our trip. Too bad we don't have a photo of Beth chasing her across the beach when she tried to run away. We really need to work on that "come" command.

Piper the Puppy!

Well, we've had Piper now for a little over two weeks and things are going great. We realize now that our lives will never be the same, but that's a good thing. Sometimes when you're out in the backyard at 3:00 in the morning with a razor-toothed maniac ripping holes in your pajamas, it's hard to remember why it's a good thing, but naughty or nice, she does add excitement (and entertainment) to our lives! Hopefully we're getting a little taste of what it will be like to have kids. Although we've been told by many people that babies are a breeze after raising a puppy. Let's just hope that babies don't bite as hard or as often as Piper does.
